Please note that while the online version of Swapnet is still valid the on-air information is completely out of date. Our net control operators have moved on and the net no longer airs on Thursday nights.

It would be nice to get the listings on the air again. If you would be interested in becoming a net control for Swapnet please contact Mike at K5ATM@YAHOO.COM. If we can get enough interested operators we will update the text below and once again become a Thursday night event.

The New Mexico Swapnet is a weekly on-the-air hamfest that you can visit without leaving home. All Ham Radio operators are encouraged to join our net each Thursday at 8:30 PM (Mountain time) on any Megalink or Upper Rio FM Society repeater (over thirty repeaters are linked together during the net).

When you tune into the net you can just listen to the listings or if you choose, you will have an opportunity to check in and list items For Sale, Trade or items you Want. If you can’t join us on the net you can submit listings via the web

Your Swapnet control operators:

  • 1st Thursday – Mike Eaton, K5MJE
  • 2nd Thursday – John Davis, AE5RY
  • 3rd Thursday – Darryl Clutter, NX5W – http://www.swantenna.com/
  • 4th Thursday – Mike Pendley, K5ATM
  • 5th Thursday – Steve Pendley, KD5TBX

Sometimes Swapnet is not heard on Thursday night because of a lack of operators. Would you like to be a control operator? Contact the webmaster

Some rules to make the net run smoothly

  • All items must be Amateur Radio related
  • You must be a licensed Amateur Radio operator to list an item.
  • The Swapnet is for New Mexico area hams. Anybody wishing to submit a listing to the net must be able to hit a repeater that carries the Swap Net.
  • We will accept as many items as you want to submit, however, the Swap Net net control stations may choose to read only five (5) of your items on the air so as to not use too much airtime.
  • When you submit an item for the Swapnet, please provide the net control station:
    • Your name
    • Your callsign
    • Your phone number
    • Details about the item(s) you are selling, trading or looking for:
      • Brand
      • Model number
      • Brief Description
      • Price
  • When you find/sell any of your listed items, please be let us know so we can delete it from the listings.
  • Items will be listed on the Swapnet for 45 days. If an item does not sell, you are welcome to relist it

Hope to see you on the air this Thursday.
