Before you ask for help you should make an effort to do a little research and try to answer the question yourself. With so much technical information online your answer is often just a “Google” away.

If you still need help, want to verify facts, or maybe just get advice on how to get started on solving your problem please don’t hesitate to submit a question.

You can help the Technical Specialists answer your question more quickly and more completely if you carefully explain your problem, describe what you have tried, what you have learned so far, what equipment is involved, budget constraints, etc.

For example, asking the simple question — “What is the best way to ground my station” will only result in a response of “tell me more”. A better question would contain information on equipment in your station, type of antenna, what part of the state you are located in, what constraints you may have in terms of where your station is physically located (e.g. 3 floor apartment vs. single story home on a large lot), etc.

I am setting up a HSMM-Mesh network. I am working directly with another local amateur. We both have modified the LinkSys routers ver 2.2. When we auto connect when within range, which is about 200 ft, not 7 miles like the site description describes. 2nd part of the question, did the tech operating procedures leave something very important out ? When 2 mesh nodes link up, how do we xmit files, data etc? Is there a detail procedure somewhere that provides this information? Please specify and browser or other computer application that ws necessary.
From the information provided, I can see this mode has performance potential far superior than any other existing amateur radio application. Can you help us a little bit ?
    Thanks

How can I listen to ham; emergency radio on my smart phone? The available apps only recognize nearby Las Cruces or Tucson …nothing for Grant Co.NM.

    • k5atm says:

Your smart phone cannot listen to these services directly. To pick up police and emergency traffic someone needs to set up a scanner or multiple scanners and stream the audio to the Internet. Applications on computers and smart phones can then tap into these streams.

I don’t know of anyone that is doing this in your area. A quick Google did not yield anything either.

      Sorry.
