Background

D-Star now spans the Rio Grande Valley with repeaters in Los Alamos, Albuquerque, Las Cruces and El Paso. Ever since the track of D-Star forums at the 2011 Rocky Mountain Convention held this past August in Taos NM, interest in D-Star has continued to grow in the Rio Grande Valley. Most every amateur radio club in the Albuquerque area has either had or has requested a D-Star presentation for a club meeting. Both on the NM-DSTAR listserve and at the Socorro Hamfest, response to the idea of a full day of D-Star forums and hands-on demos has been overwhelmingly positive. Throughout the country a number of very successful D-Star Academies have been held, our time has come. This Academy is a full day of D-Star presentations and demonstrations, covering everything from an introduction to the technology, beginner basics, to Advanced topics.

The current program is listed below but we reserve the right to add even more activities!
