The Estancia Valley Amateur Radio Association was founded in May, 2005, jointly by the county Emergency Manager at the time, Gary Kayser, and the County Manager, Bob Ayre. It was begun largely as an ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) organization for Torrance County, New Mexico.

- The Estancia Valley Amateur Radio Association (EVARA) holds a club net every Tuesday night (7:30PM) on the 146.72 repeater (-,100Hz PL) located in the Tijeras/Manzano Mountains. Club members are checked in first with club business/discussion. Following that portion of the net, any Ham operator is invited to check-in and join the discussion. Hope to hear you on the EVARA net!
- The next club work day will be on 28 May, at Kelly’s. Field Day preparations will be discussed with logging practice session.
- The Estancia Valley Amateur Radio Association (EVARA) holds its monthly club meeting on the 2nd Saturday of the Month at “My Restaurant” in Moriarty at 9AM. Join us for breakfast at about 8:30AM. Learn about club and Torrance County ARES activities.
